How many non-religious people are there and how many of them are humanists?
Over half the population of the UK describe themselves as non-religious and this figure has been growing over the past 40 years. There are many more people who share humanist beliefs and values than use the world ‘humanist’ to describe themselves, often because they are unfamiliar with the term.
